Are there any prerequisites?

No, you do not need any prior level of knowledge, and we hope to provide useful information to people at a range of educational levels. As the modules are fully online, basic computer skills are required to complete them.

Are there exams or assignments?

There are no exams or assignments. However, there are short quizzes for you to gain insight into your learning. You can have as many tries as you like to pass the quiz.  

Are there limited places in DREAM?

No, places are unlimited. We would be pleased if you would like to invite friends, family members, colleagues working in dementia respite care to participate in DREAM.

Can I use a phone or tablet, such as an iPad, to access the modules?

Yes. The platform that hosts DREAM has been designed to work across smartphones and tablets, as well as laptops and desktop computers.

How can I provide evidence to my employer that I have completed these modules?

You can download a free certificate as you complete each module which you can show to your employer. You can also access these, as well as a full record of completion, at any time under your profile, in the top right corner of the website. 

How much does it cost?

Nothing, it is completely free! DREAM has been funded by the Australian Government. 

Who can do the modules?

DREAM education modules have been tailored to anyone working in, or interested in learning more about, dementia respite care. Whether you work in residential aged care, in-home care, you are a nurse or a personal care worker. DREAM education is for you! DREAM education may also be of interest to informal carers, although the content is not specifically targeted at this group.

What are the education topics?

There are five DREAM education topics reflected throughout DREAM. These education topics are Unpacking dementia, Navigating behaviour, Relationships and communication, Planning for success, and Knowing the person. To learn more about these, please visit our ‘About DREAM’ page.

Is there a timeframe to complete the education?

No, there are no timeframes to complete any of the courses offered through DREAM. You can leave and come back at any time.

I’ve completed a course, but my certificate is not available

The certificate will not be available until you complete the quiz at the end of each topic. To see which courses you have completed, they are listed under your profile and the ‘my courses’ menu. A course is not complete unless you see the green completed badge.

How do I find the completion date of the education I’ve completed?

The completion date is located on each individual certificate that you receive once you have completed a module. It is located in the top left corner.
